On the afternoon of 25 November, OMIC officially launched its new LOVE LOCAL MUSIC campaign (MA VILLE, MA MUSIQUE) with an afternoon celebration at The Record Centre. The LOVE LOCAL MUSIC campaign, designed to put the spotlight on the world-class local talent here in Ottawa, will include a series of evolving curated playlists, a local music podcast, and events wrapped all tied together by the brand logo designed by scene stalwart Steve St. Pierre with Abel Company.

The event saw The Record Centre jammed with industry and fans looking to learn more about the campaign and enjoy the wonderful Catriona Sturton’s last local appearance for a while, having recently played the National Arts Centre before mingling over all local beats. With Record Centre Records quickly establishing itself as the most prolific active local label, it was a great coming together of creators and audience.

Those who want to show their pride in the local music scene around town can pick up a LOVE LOCAL / MA VILLE, MA MUSIQUE shirt with members and Friends of OMIC picking eligible for a 10% discount (email info@ottawamic.com for details).

We’d like to thank the local media for their support, with coverage of the campaign and its goals in the Ottawa Citizen, Metro Ottawa, CTV Ottawa Morning Live, Artsfile, the next issue of the Kitchissippi Times and Apt 613.
