OMIC is pleased to announce that our third annual general meeting will take place on April 30th, 2018 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Hintonburg Community Centre, with a performance at a nearby venue afterwards. Venue and performer details will be announced in the following weeks.

The AGM is an important community gathering. It offers a chance for members of the community to connect with OMIC’s board and staff, receive reports from the President and Treasurer, and have their say in the direction of the organization. OMIC membership is not required to attend, but only members can be on the board, nominate members, and vote in the meeting.

Since many of our memberships are expiring in February, now is a good time to renew to ensure full participation. It’s a also a great time to register as a new member, and fully participate in the AGM.

We will be holding board elections during the meeting and there are five board seats to be filled through election. Four seats are available due to the terms of existing board members ending in 2018. We would like to thank Jon Bartlett, Melissa Kaestner, Iva Ndikuryo and Alka Sharma for their contributions to the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition to-date. The fifth seat became available after Yaovi Hoyi stepped down from the board in January. Thank you Yao for your help in OMIC’s growth and development.

If you are interested in joining the board, the election package is available here. Candidacy packages can be submitted in either English or French, and must be submitted before April 9th.
