Open to all independent artists, though content will be targeted toward the challenges of a performing artist.

Carol DeMone, CPA, CA
Tax Manager

Carol brings over 20 years of experience in the areas of corporate, personal and estate
income tax planning and compliance. She began her professional accounting career at a Big
Four firm in Toronto, and soon transferred to their Ottawa office. Here, she began her in-
depth study of tax planning and compliance. Carol has led numerous early retirement and
severance package seminars for various clients, including several Federal Government
departments, and large private corporations. In 2004, Carol moved to a local accounting
firm in Ottawa, where she developed her tax research skills, which included exposure to
real estate development structures, US tax, cross-border scenarios, and estate work. Carol
joined GGFL Chartered Professional Accountants in January 2017 as a Tax Manager, and is
thriving in an environment dedicated to small business tax planning, a supportive
community presence, and a high level of client service.

Wendy Wong, CPA, CA
Tax Manager

Wendy is an established Tax Manager who has accumulated over 15 years of tax experience
throughout her career. Wendy initially began her tax career with the Big Four, working on
both public and private company files. With that experience, she then worked in industry as
a Tax Manager for publically traded companies. Her responsibilities included tax
compliance and external tax reporting requirements, in addition she managed income tax,
sales tax, and transfer pricing audits with Canadian tax authorities. After working in
industry, Wendy returned to accounting at a mid-sized accounting firm where, in addition
to her typical personal and corporate tax managerial role, she was a member of their

national GST/HST group. She was responsible for providing GST/HST support and guidance
for their eastern Ontario and Atlantic offices. Today, Wendy continues her tax managerial
role at GGFL Chartered Professional Accountants, and is the firm’s in-house HST expert.
