BMDA Cinq à sept: Ash Ravens, Izzy Rose

OMIC is partnering with the ByWard Market District Authority (BMDA) to program free live music for the launch of their summer concert series in Ottawa’s ByWard Market District. Taking place every Thursday from 5 PM - 7 PM in the George St Plaza from June 6th through to Oct 10th, these performances will showcase incredible talent in the city. These shows provide paid opportunities to emerging and established artists from and touring through the National Capital Region. The 19-week-long series will be coordinated by OMIC and hosted by Ottawa recording artist Tara Shannon, as well as other special guests.

Programming

Ash Ravens 

Ash Ravens is an award winning guitarist/singer-songwriter who has created a unique niche in the Canadian music scene, blending genres from rock to country. Born in Bangladesh and having lived in LA and Melbourne, he settled in Ottawa in 2021. Nominated for 'Newcomer of the Year 2022' at the Capital Music Awards, Ravens has so far collaborated with notable artists, including Bif Naked, Ritesh Das, Raphael Weinroth-Browne, and Chris Birkett.

Izzy Rose 

Izzy Rose spent her whole life singing. Her sound is like no other as she mastered the art of soft yet powerful vocals, pairing her flowing through a range of genres. Izzy’s single “OHWEI” was featured on CBC Radio, editorial Spotify playlists and hit over 200,000 streams. She's had multiple performances in Montreal and Ottawa including a show at the capital’s biggest music festival RBC Bluesfest. She has recently dropped her newest single titled “Shit Ain’t Sweet'' a soft easy listen that creates thought provoking ideas once analyzing the twisted lyrics carried by an angelic tone.  Izzy is currently working on new music and creative projects to accompany her work.
