OMIC is partnering with the ByWard Market District Authority (BMDA) to program free live music for the launch of their summer concert series in Ottawa’s ByWard Market District. Taking place every Thursday from 5 PM - 7 PM in the George St Plaza from June 6th through to Oct 10th, these performances will showcase incredible talent in the city. These shows provide paid opportunities to emerging and established artists from and touring through the National Capital Region. The 19-week-long series will be coordinated by OMIC and hosted by Ottawa recording artist Tara Shannon, as well as other special guests.

In the heart of the vibrant Canadian music scene, emerge the electrifying rhythms and breath-taking melodies of Those Who, a dynamic rock band hailing from Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2023, this talented quintet are rapidly ascending through the local circuits, leaving a lasting mark on the city's musical landscape. Those Who defy easy categorization, seamlessly blending elements of shoegaze, emo, and alternative rock with a contemporary edge. Drawing inspiration from diverse musical influences, their sound is a unique amalgamation of melodic hooks, gritty riffs, and poignant lyrics. The result is a sonic journey that resonates with both longtime rock enthusiasts and newcomers alike. 2024 is gearing up to be an exciting year for Those Who. With demos and singles in the works, they will be ready to release more material as the year progresses.
Hans Vivian Wenzel
Hans! is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter and producer born and raised in Ottawa. He graduated from the Carleton University music program in 2017 to then front The Tackies until the pandemic put a halt to all touring in 2020. In the meantime, hans! built a studio and took on the art of production while managing the Bronson Theatre as the industry came back into full bloom. Being inspired by the scale of the performances, hans! set out to bring that energy and size into the studio and into the local scene. This summer we'll see a spread of imaginative singles emerge in anticipation of his debut album "Runaway", set to release September 6th 2024
