Description

A collaboration between the Sparks Street BIA and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is bringing local music to The Shed on Sparks St all summer long! The lunchtime concert series, Songs from the Shed, will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm-1:30pm. Music lovers from the Ottawa region are invited to come enjoy lunch outdoors with a variety of captivating singer-songwriters in solo or duo formations. The project will be run by Ottawa’s own Jessy Lindsay, bilingual singer-songwriter and program coordinator.

12pm - Jahmeema

Born in Montreal, Jahmeema is a singer and songwriter currently based in Ottawa, Canada. She was first introduced to music with Jazz and ‘Chanson’ at a tender age. Her smooth and buttery vocals that range from feathery and soft, to deep and warm, are reminiscent of those she draws inspiration from; Erykah Badu, Sade, India Arie, D’Angelo and Mylène Farmer. Always singing from her heart, she takes her listeners on a journey towards self acceptance through the vulnerability she shares in her writing and with a unique voice that is distinctively her own.

Alanna J. Brown is a singer/songwriter who recently moved to Ottawa after living in Banff performing full time for a decade. She has a bachelor of Jazz Music from Humber and has released 3 original studio albums. Her songs encompass daydreams, love and honesty
