Songs from the Shed: Jamie Anderson, Dawn Sev

Description

A collaboration between the Sparks Street BIA and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is bringing local music to The Shed on Sparks St all summer long! The lunchtime concert series, Songs from the Shed, will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm-1:30pm. Music lovers from the Ottawa region are invited to come enjoy lunch outdoors with a variety of captivating singer-songwriters in solo or duo formations. The project will be run by Ottawa’s own Jessy Lindsay, bilingual singer-songwriter and program coordinator.

12pm - Jamie Anderson

Singer-songwriter Jamie Anderson has played her unique original songs in hundreds of venues in four countries. She’s a multi-instrumentalist with thirteen albums; songs range from the serious “Beautiful,” about body image, to the tongue-in-cheek “Marry Me,” where she sings about wanting to marry Rachel Maddow because, really, who wouldn’t?

Mix Joan Jett-style rock with the sassy savoir-faire of Liz Phair and Motown girl groups, and you’ve got the Dawn Sev sound: loud rock, whip-smart lyrics, a confident attitude, and slick alternative rock sounds.
