Songs from the Shed: Ulyn and Friends, Nicole Arrage

Description

A collaboration between the Sparks Street BIA and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is bringing local music to The Shed on Sparks St all summer long! The lunchtime concert series, Songs from the Shed, will takes place from 12pm-1:30pm. Music lovers from the Ottawa region are invited to come enjoy lunch outdoors with a variety of captivating singer-songwriters in solo or duo formations. The project will be run by Ottawa’s own Jessy Lindsay, bilingual singer-songwriter and program coordinator.

Programming 

Ulyn and Friends 

Ulyn Georgette was born in Trinidad and has been living in Ottawa. Recently, she has been focusing on her passion with her own jazz ensemble Ulyn & Friends. She will be joined by guitarist Ron Decock. Ron is originally from Winnipeg, but has been living in the NCR for thirteen years. He has been playing finger-style guitar for over 40 years and have a special fondness for Latin music and creating improvisations on well-known tunes.

Nicole Arrage 

Nicole is a Lebanese-Canadian singer-songwriter from Gatineau. A McGill Jazz Performance graduate, she has performed at TEDx Montréal, M for Mtl, Outaouais en Fête, Nuit Blanche, among others. Her soulful pop blends personal stories with diverse musical influences. She is currently working on her debut EP with Yan Lobono & Alexy Guérer from Hansom Ēli.
