Member Testimonials

OMIC is an important point of communion for those of us working in the music industry in Ottawa. It’s a meeting point, it’s a family, and it’s a source of support and encouragement. As an agent and manager, for me it is a connection of all languages. The mandate of this association resonates with me and I am so proud to be a member.

Navigating the Ottawa music industry can be daunting when you don't know where to start from. I always tell folks that the key to progressing in the performing space is community. OMIC is the perfect place for artists looking to dive into what the city has to offer them. They cover a lot of ground and are serious about putting the artist first.

Being an OMIC member has not only provided me with opportunities to showcase my music, but also the chance to connect with other local artists in the Ottawa music scene. Very grateful for OMIC and everything they are doing to enrich and educate our local music community!

Steph La Rochelle

I've been an OMIC Member since its inception, and this community has helped me in countless ways. I've had the chance to participate in showcases, workshops, panels, trade fairs, and even filmed events over the years. A program that was huge for me was the Ottawa Music Development Fund. As the recipient of this fund, I was able to afford an integral piece of streaming gear, which helped me kickstart my livestreaming career. Streaming has now become a part of my everyday music practice, and I am still so grateful for the opportunities I've been given by the Ottawa music community to help make my dreams a reality.
