OMIC is here to support artists, entrepreneurs, and music workers during every stage of their careers. Most of our team have creative backgrounds; from touring to show promotion, OMIC's staff is personally invested in helping music professionals grow.

Note that we understand what it’s like to work as a creative entrepreneur, so if you’re ever in financial duress and are unable to pay the entirety of your membership fee, talk to a staff member, and we’ll happily waive part or all of your membership fee.

Meet the Team!
Melanie Brulée (she/her)
Executive Director Mélanie Brulée is a former award-winning bilingual international touring artist and mental health advocate. Her journey with OMIC started in 2022, after a lifetime in the music industry, filling her time with artist management, publicity, radio tracking, and social media & event management when she wasn’t on the road. She loves her dog, Rocky, living in Vanier, and psychedelic guitar tones.
Karim Rostom (he/him)
Karim Rostom is OMIC’s Senior Program Coordinator. Having been with OMIC since 2020, he is inspired by the prosperity within the Ottawa music industry over the last few years and jumps at any opportunity to help Ottawa music grow by throwing exciting community-minded events. Outside of OMIC, Karim is passionate about ocean conservation, and enjoys exploring how music can encourage listeners to take up an activist cause.
Zoë Argiropulos-Hunter (she/her)
Zoë Argiropulos-Hunter is OMIC’s Membership and Communications Manager. Outside of OMIC, Zoë works as an event producer, social media strategist, writer, radio host & selector and DJ in Ottawa/Montreal. Zoë is the Co-Founder and Managing Editor of Also Cool Mag, an independent online arts and music publication, and promotes local musical events as First Crush Promotion.
Jessy Lindsay (she/her)
Jessy Lindsay is a Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter, composer, sound designer, and project coordinator born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She coordinates a variety of projects with OMIC including Songs from the Shed, the website revamp, and member portal update. When Jessy isn’t working on music, she loves to bike, crochet and attend local live music shows.
Tara Shannon (she/her)
Tara Shannon is a music industry multi-hyphenate: award-winning artist and songwriter; business, wellness coach, and author of “YOU and the Music Business: A Self Care Guide to Finding More Balance and Joy in Today’s Music Industry.” She served on the OMIC board for seven years as a Director and then Treasurer and is now in a support role for project coordination. Tara is a passionate advocate for Ottawa’s music and the work OMIC does to nurture the city’s music ecosystem. She is an avid golfer, a mother of seven, and loves music in all its forms.
Fabien Pleur (they/them)
Fabien Pleur is the coordinator of the Live From The Booth program. Fabien is a music producer, vocalist, DJ, event coordinator, arts administrator, visual artist, and the driving force behind the HUG MOSH musical project. Founder of local promotional outfit Many Place Money Party, Fabien’s community work aims to bring underrepresented, underground, and internet-based artists into the public. Outside of the arts, Fabien is a sci-fi and fantasy fan and an avid tattoo collector.
