Episode 1: What are we doing here?
Welcome to the first episode of the LOVE LOCAL MUSIC podcast, part of the LOVE LOCAL MUSIC campaign of the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition. Co-hosts Nik Ives-Allison (OMIC General Manager) and Joel Elliott (Jumpin’ Joel Flash and the Magic Machine) are here to help you find your favourite Ottawa (area) band, talking you through the latest news and the hottest tracks to come out of our music scenes.
In this episode, we’ll be giving you an introduction to the LOVE LOCAL MUSIC campaign, where it came from and why it’s important. We’ll also talk you through the first seven of the 100% local LOVE LOCAL MUSIC / MA VILLE, MA MUSIQUE playlists before sharing some of our favourite super-fresh finds (also the theme of January’s playlist!). Finally, we’ll be wrapping up by sharing info about just some of the events coming our way in February.
Catch you next month when we report back from MEGAPHONO and share some of our favourite tunes to beat the winter blues.
