About City Sounds Live:

City Sounds Live is a travelling music festival presented in partnership with BIAs and co-curators in various neighbourhoods around Ottawa. Created in 2021, thanks to funding from the City of Ottawa’s Economic Development Department, City Sounds Live promotes diverse local emerging artists and encourages economic growth. The concerts aim to provide residents and visitors of Ottawa with free, family-friendly, and inclusive outdoor live music experiences that foster community involvement, social cohesion, and increased spending in the surrounding areas. 

By producing evening events near music venues in various neighbourhoods around the City of Ottawa, OMIC is directly contributing to Downtown Revitalization and supporting Ottawa's Nightlife Economy Action Plan. Each performance takes place in a neighbourhood with a live music venue nearby—event hosts encourage attendees and passers-by to explore the venue's regularly scheduled programming after the show.

The 2023 City Sounds Live program saw a total of 99 individual artists paid through 55 different performances across 20 concerts.
