Confederation Line Launch - Recap!

On Saturday September 14th the O-Train’s highly anticipated new Confederation Line tying the city together from Gloucester through Wellington West officially opened to the public and the first riders were greeted by a top-notch roster of local artists at each station.

With 13 simultaneous performances at every station, those hopping around the new system had plenty of chances to find their new favourite local artist.

OMIC was proud to power this exciting open day project through a partnership with the City of Ottawa/OC Transpo. Through our LOVE LOCAL music campaign, we’re committed to shining a spotlight on the wealth of local talent that chooses to call Ottawa home, and the Confederation Line opening was the perfect opportunity to reach commuters and transit users who might not be gig-goers or get a lot of exposure to local music in their day to day lives.

The artists - alumni of the From Emerging to Export or the City’s #ottmusik program  - performed special acoustic or minimally amplified sets in station areas that have been set aside by OC Transpo for a future station busking program, the details of which will be shared in the new year.
