Melanie Brulée - Executive Director, OMIC / Bilingual Artist / Former Radio Tracker

Melanie Brulée is the new Executive Director at the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition and has spent the last 15 years in almost every role imaginable in the marketing side of the music industry. A former PR and booking agent, radio tracker, graphic designer, and consultant, Melanie calls on her decades of experience on and off-stage to support the music community with the goal of reshaping the industry in a more sustainable way. www.melaniebrulee.com

Matthew Bisson - Host and Station Manager, ELMNT FM Ottawa

A member of M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, Matthew joined First Peoples Radio in April 2019. He now serves as the Station Manager for 95.7 ELMNT FM in Ottawa, while also anchoring afternoon newscasts and filling in as a program host when required. Matthew has worked in Radio and Television since 2003. After three years working as a news anchor, editor and reporter for Corus Radio Edmonton and Rogers Radio Ottawa, he returned to Kingston where he spent six more years with what is now Bell Media Kingston, in addition to a stint where he served as Station Manager of CFRC, Queen’s University Radio.

Barry Rooke - Founder, !earshot distro, Executive Director at National Campus and Community Radio Association

Barry started in campus/community radio at the age of 15 when he was introduced to CFRU at the University of Guelph. His involvement there as a teenager led him to a 3-year diploma in Radio & TV Broadcasting, followed by an HR degree and in-depth research looking at Social Media use by campus/community, public and private radio in Canada for his Master's degree. He also spent time as the technical coordinator, administrator, station manager and chair of the board of directors at CFRU. With his experience as a broadcaster for 15 years, a producer in commercial radio for three years and interactions with the association and its members, Barry took on the role of Executive Director at the NCRA/ANREC in June of 2015 after relocating to Ottawa. He started !earshot-distr.ca as a service of the NCRA/ANREC
